A teamdecoder team template is a master file that we at teamdecoder created, very often with partners, to make your start into the teamdecoder experience easier.

This feature is technically ready but we are still adding more relevant content for you. All existing templates are WIP, you find general info on how our templates work below.

If you have an idea for a template, please write to [email protected]!

The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive

The CSRD modernises and strengthens the rules concerning the social and environmental information that companies have to report. A broader set of large companies, as well as listed SMEs, will now be required to report on sustainability.

The new rules will ensure that investors and other stakeholders have access to the information they need to assess the impact of companies on people and the environment and for investors to assess financial risks and opportunities arising from climate change and other sustainability issues.

The first companies will have to apply the new rules for the first time in the 2024 financial year, for reports published in 2025.

Companies subject to the CSRD will have to report according to European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

The Challenge

The biggest challenges companies face regarding the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) include:

Complex Reporting Requirements
The CSRD introduces more detailed and standardized sustainability reporting requirements compared to previous frameworks, necessitating significant efforts to gather, verify, and report data.

Data Collection and Quality

Companies may struggle to collect reliable environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data, especially if they lack the infrastructure or systems for comprehensive data tracking and verification.

Limited Expertise and Resources

Many organizations, particularly SMEs, lack in-house expertise on sustainability reporting and may need to invest in training or hire external consultants to meet the new requirements.

These challenges require companies to make significant changes to their reporting processes, internal data collection systems, and overall approach to sustainability to ensure compliance with CSRD standards.

The teamdecoder "CSRD mgmt team" template gives you a simple first step towards an optimal organization to fulfill the new requirements:

Walk-through

The workflow of getting to the needed reportings is reflected in "circles". One step = 1 circle, allowing you to organize for every step of the way:

All topics and sub-topics that  are found relevant in your double materiality analysis, show as "projects". One topic = 1 project, allowing you to work through the data gathering and analysis of every relevant sup/topic:

The specialists with subject matter knowledge, who you need for each of those topics to gather and analyse the necessary data, are listed and assigned in the "skills" list:

Now we identify the individuals within your organization who need to collaborate on this sub/topic. Which resources and departments are required? Who are the core members of the CSRD management team ("roles"), and which departments are involved only when necessary ("links")?

All outcomes and individual responsibilities are listed in the "domains" section, like parts of the reporting:

When you decide to work with this template:

  • adjust circles and projects to your needs (eg. which topics have been found relevant?)
  • adjust needed skills, roles and links
  • and finally add your people in the yellow list, "enter" focus mode and start assigning items
  • the red "NO" pill will indicate items that do not have an owner, yet.

Please get in touch when you have questions!
